Can Sumoi is a family-owned natural wine project in Penedès, owned by Raventós i Blanc and led by Pepe Raventós, with Francesc Escala involved in winemaking. Based on a high-mountain estate in the Serra de l’Home, it focuses on indigenous varieties including Parellada, Xarel·lo, Sumoll and old-vine Montonega. The vineyards are certified organic by CCPAE and farmed according to biodynamic principles, worked by hand and with animal traction, without machinery. In the cellar, the approach is low-intervention, with natural fermentation, no additives, no stabilization or filtration, and minimal or zero sulfur. The project reflects the Raventós family’s long connection to wine through a distinctly artisanal, site-driven style.
