Red Muscadel

Founded in 1864 in South Africa’s Robertson Valley, Rietvallei is one of the country’s oldest family-owned wine estates and remains in the hands of the Burger family, now in its sixth generation. The 215-hectare property includes just over 100 hectares of vineyards, planted mainly to white varieties alongside red grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon. Its portfolio includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and a historic 1908 Red Muscadel bush-vine plot. Rietvallei combines respect for its long winemaking heritage with a willingness to innovate and embrace new approaches, while continuing the family’s tradition of dedication and storytelling.
