Pighin is a family-owned producer in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, founded in 1963 by the brothers Luigi, Fernando and Ercole Pighin. Since 2004, the estate has been fully led by Fernando Pighin and his family, with Roberto Pighin noted as a key owner and winemaking figure. The winery works across its Risano and Spessa di Capriva estates, vinifying only estate-grown fruit from both regional and international varieties. Its approach emphasizes control from vineyard to bottle, alongside practical sustainability measures including organic Virdis IGT, disease-resistant and piwi vines, wastewater treatment, photovoltaic energy, and investment in more sustainable production. Pighin is also recognized for award-winning wines including Collio Malvasia 2022, Soreli Collio 2021, and Friuli Pinot Grigio DOC.
