Paul Clüver Family Wines

South Africa

Paul Clüver Family Wines is a fourth-generation, family-owned estate in Elgin, South Africa, where the De Rust property has been in the family since 1896. Commercial vineyards were established in the late 1980s, focusing on cool-climate varieties including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir and Gewürztraminer. The wines aim to express the farm’s aspect, climate and soils, with Andries Burger as winemaker and Martin Prieur advising on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The estate emphasizes sustainable production and received the WWF South Africa Living Planet Award in 2022 for conservation leadership; no formal organic or biodynamic certification is listed.
