Australia

Mitolo is a family-owned producer in McLaren Vale, South Australia, founded by Frank Mitolo and shaped by the family’s Italian-Australian roots from Abruzzo. Working with winemaker Ben Glaetzer since 1999, the estate built its reputation on Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon before expanding into Grenache and Italian varieties. Fruit is sourced almost exclusively from southern McLaren Vale districts including Sellicks Hill, Aldinga and Whites Valley. Notes describe a traditional, low-intervention approach with indigenous yeasts and French oak, while no formal sustainability certifications are listed. Alongside its cellar door, Mitolo also runs hospitality venues that reflect its emphasis on family, food and wine.
