Michel Autran is a small, personally owned domaine in Vouvray, Loire Valley, founded in 2012 by former emergency-medicine doctor Michel Autran. He oversees all vineyard and cellar work himself, working with Chenin Blanc on clay-limestone and flinty-clay soils over chalky limestone. Farming is uncertified organic with strong biodynamic practice, including lunar calendars, preparations, nettle and ponytail teas, and horse-drawn ploughing. In the cellar, Autran follows a low-intervention approach with indigenous yeasts, limited sulphur, and light filtration. The wines are natural in style, exclusively dry since the 2017 vintage, and aged for at least two years in troglodyte tuffeau caves.
