Marqués de Murrieta is a historic, large-scale Rioja estate founded in 1852, considered a pioneer of the region. It is family-owned by the Cebrián-Sagarriga family since 1983 and operates from the 300-hectare Finca Ygay, the largest single-wine estate in Rioja, producing around one million bottles annually. The winery emphasizes 100% estate-grown viticulture across varied soils and altitudes, with a strong commitment to sustainability, including solar energy and herbicide-free farming. Under winemaker María Vargas, it focuses on flagship and reserve wines. The group also owns the Pazo de Barrantes estate in Rías Baixas, dedicated to Albariño, and has expanded with a new production facility, extensive gardens, and a private cultural space in Madrid.
