Founded in 1923 in Chablis, La Chablisienne is a growers’ cooperative in Burgundy, owned by more than 300 members from around 200–250 families. Members harvest and press their grapes before delivering must to the cooperative, which oversees vinification. Its vineyards cover the Chablis range from village to Premier Cru and Grand Cru, including the flagship Château Grenouilles estate. Chardonnay is grown on Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils, with winemaking including cold settling, stainless-steel fermentation, and around six months of lees ageing. The cooperative also produces certified organic wines under its Dame Nature label, with ECOCERT certification covering both vineyard work and vinification.
