Josef Fischer

Austria

Josef Fischer is a fifth-generation family winery in the Wachau, Austria, run by Josef “Joe” Fischer and Katja Fischer. The estate’s organically certified vineyards, planted primarily to Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, are managed with integrated agriculture and a transition toward biodynamic practices. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented spontaneously with native yeasts, without cultured yeasts or filtration. As sole winemaker, Joe Fischer focuses on expressive single-vineyard wines, reflecting a hands-on, family-owned approach.
