Fontanafredda is a historic, family-run estate in Piedmont, founded in 1858 by King Vittorio Emanuele II. It is a large producer coordinating a network of growers. Sustainability is central, with all vineyards certified organic since 2018, a chemical-free regime, a forest sanctuary, and a Green Renaissance initiative. Winemaking is led by Danilo Drocco and Roberto Bruno. The vineyards feature limestone and grey marl soils, and are planted with Nebbiolo clones.
