Fernando de Castilla is a historic Jerez producer founded in 1837 and revitalized in 1999 by Jan Pettersen, a Norwegian former Osborne winemaker who owns and runs it as an independent sherry house. Based in historic cellars in central Jerez, the bodega works artisanally and follows traditional Marco de Jerez methods, including the solera and criadera system. Although it does not own vineyards, it sources fruit from partner growers in Pago Añina and Pago El Cuadrado. Farming is described as natural and sustainable, without pesticides or herbicides, but with no formal organic or biodynamic certification. Its wines are estate-bottled, natural, unblended and unfined, alongside a range of brandies and Jerez vinegars.
