Founded in 2019 in Vernus, Régnie-Durette, Domaine de Vernus is a boutique Beaujolais estate cultivating just over 12 hectares, mainly old vines. Former insurance broker Frédéric Jametton and winemaker Guillaume Rouget run the domaine as partners, producing predominantly red wines from Beaujolais-Villages and several Crus, including Régnié, Morgon, Chiroubles, Fleurie and Moulin-à-Vent. Their viticulture is organic and biodiversity-focused, with an emphasis on healthy, sustainable farming, though no formal certification is cited. Carefully selected parcels are vinified separately, while Rouget brings a Burgundian rigor to Gamay, aiming for fine, elegant and precise wines that express each cru and lieu-dit. The estate’s wines are aged in Burgundian oak barrels for at least ten months.
