Château Barrejat is a fourth-generation family estate just outside Maumusson-Laguian in Madiran, owned and run by Denis Capmartin, who joined the domaine in 1992. Its vineyards include old rootstocks and vines ranging from around 40 years to 80–200 years old, including those used for the Cuvée des Vieux Ceps. The estate works across diverse alluvial soils, from sandy clay to rocky gravel, and its long-established vines help reduce the need for replanting. Wines emphasize fruit purity, freshness and finesse, with fermentation in cement, fiberglass and stainless steel and aging in neutral French oak foudres. Commercial bottling dates to 1967, and the cellar and underground barrel chai have been modernized under Denis’s direction. No organic or biodynamic certification is noted.
