Producer

Charles Heidsieck

France

Founded in Reims in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck, this Champagne house combines deep heritage with a strong contemporary sustainability ethos. Owned by the Descours family since 2011, it holds HVE, VDC and B Corp certifications, works without herbicides, uses organic fertilisers, recycles waste, and supports biodiversity through measures including beehives and hedgerows. Its style is built around time: long ageing in historic Gallo-Roman chalk cellars and extensive use of reserve wines give the Champagnes texture, elegance, indulgence and complexity. The house was an early advocate for Chardonnay and is known for blending across many crus. Winemaking has been shaped by Cyril Brun and Thierry Roset.
