Castillo de Montblanc is produced by family-owned Clos Montblanc in Barberà de la Conca, Catalonia, founded by the Carbonell Figueras family in 1988. Set in the Conca de Barberà among vineyards associated with a long Cistercian winemaking tradition, the winery works with local varieties such as Trepat, Cariñena, Parellada and Garnacha alongside Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Its portfolio includes D.O. Conca de Barberà wines and Cavas, including Brut Reserva, with both traditional blends and single-varietal expressions. The estate combines modern vinification facilities with historic methods, including wines made in original stone vats without temperature control or additives. It emphasizes ecological installations, including the use of rainwater, and reports sustainable agriculture and ecological wines in parts of its production.
