Castello di Neive is a family-owned estate in Neive, Piedmont, run by the Stupino siblings and rooted in the town’s long Barbaresco history. The estate combines a historic castle cellar, used for wood aging, with a modern winery, and works entirely with estate-grown fruit from vineyards including Santo Stefano, Gallina, Basarin, Valtorta, Messoirano and Montebertotto. Italo Stupino leads vineyard and cellar work with a scientific, hands-on approach, alongside long-term research such as the Arneis clonal selection project. Farming is described as sustainable and integrated, with mechanical under-row work, insect sexual confusion, weather monitoring, composting, and efforts to reduce pesticides and sulfites. The wines are presented as a meeting of tradition and innovation, with Barbaresco central to the estate’s identity.
