Boas Quintas is a family-owned Portuguese producer based at Quinta da Giesta in Mortágua, Dão, founded in 1991 by Nuno Cancela de Abreu and continuing a winemaking tradition spanning more than 130 years. The group works across Dão, Bucelas, Setúbal Peninsula and other Portuguese regions, with particular attention to native varieties and the authentic expression of each terroir. Quinta da Giesta’s vineyards lie at 200 metres on predominantly clay soils, in a microclimate protected by the Buçaco and Caramulo ranges. Its approach emphasizes respect for the land, vineyard discipline, listening to the soil and sustainable viticulture, including efforts to reduce water and chemical use, manage waste and conserve biodiversity. Wines include reds, whites, rosé, sparkling and extended-ageing styles, made with respect for tradition and time.
