Founded in Bouzy in 1874 by Edmond Barnaut, Barnaut remains a family-owned grower Champagne house, now led by Philippe and his son Guillaume Secondé. The estate farms primarily Grand Cru parcels in Bouzy, Ambonnay and Louvois, with Pinot Noir dominant and Chardonnay providing balance and finesse. Its quasi-organic lutte raisonnée approach, including organic composts, light ploughing and minimal fungicide use, is supported by HVE and VDC certifications. The family handles the work from vineyard to bottling, combining tradition with simple, low-impact vinification to express the terroir naturally. Its wines include the Grande Réserve perpetual cuvée, maintained across generations, and Bouzy Rouge.
