Founded in 1941 by Modesto Alvarez Romero and Eladio Díez Ossorio, Bodegas Álvarez y Díez remains family-owned and is directed by Juan and Alvaro de Benito. Located in Nava del Rey, Valladolid, within Rueda, the estate produces and bottles wines at origin from its own vineyards. Its viticulture considers climate, soil and variety, with sustainable, ecosystem-conscious practices; the vineyards’ day-night temperature contrasts and well-draining soils help preserve sugar-acid balance. Verdejo is central to the winery’s identity, with varieties vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Traditional winemaking is combined with modern technology, while a historic subterranean cellar with galleries and oak vats remains in use. A recently installed 85.05 kWp photovoltaic system supports its sustainability efforts.
