Vinicola Cicella is a family-run winery in Torricella, Taranto, Apulia, operated by brothers Michele and Cosimo Schifone, who continue an old family tradition. Michele serves as oenologist and Cosimo manages the vineyards. Their vineyards lie between Torricella, Lizzano, and Maruggio, including sites near the sea, where they cultivate indigenous varieties such as Primitivo, Negroamaro, Fiano, Malvasia, and Moscato. Vines are grown using the non-irrigated Apulian alberello system on mineral-rich, well-drained clay soils. The winery vinifies grapes exclusively from its own vineyards, combining traditional techniques with careful selection in small-capacity steel vats. Primitivo di Manduria DOC is a particular focus, alongside other regional wines.
