Roterfaden & Rosswag Co-Op

Germany

Roterfaden & Rosswag Co-Op is based in a small Württemberg village of around 1,200 residents, among the steep, limestone-rich terraces of the Enz River area. While the local cooperative farms most of the village’s vineyards, the Roterfaden estate is owned and run by Hannes Hoffmann and Olympia Samara, who also make the wines. Their approximately 4 hectares are certified organic and managed with biodynamic practices, with grapes harvested by hand. Fermentation takes place in ambient steel tanks, and the wines are bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with minimal sulfur dioxide, reflecting a highly artisanal approach.
