Podere Poggio Scalette

Italy

Podere Poggio Scalette is a family-owned estate in Ruffoli, Greve in Chianti, in Tuscany’s Chianti Classico zone. Founded as an autonomous winery in 1991 by Vittorio Fiore and his wife Adriana Assjè di Marcorà, it remains closely run by the Fiore family, with Jurij Fiore, trained in viticulture and oenology in Beaune, overseeing vineyard and winemaking under Vittorio’s guidance. The vineyards lie on high, terraced slopes with dry-stone walls in the Alta Valle della Greve, on sandstone-rich soils. The estate is especially known for Il Carbonaione, drawn from rare old Sangiovese di Lamole vines, and its approach centers on passion for the land and respect for terroir.
