Monchiero Carbone is a family-run winery in Canale, Roero, with a winemaking tradition dating to 1918, when Clotilde Valente acquired the Mombirone vineyard. Today, Francesco Monchiero and his family work across Roero and Langhe sites, focusing on native Piedmont varieties including Arneis, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. Their wines express distinct MGA and cru terroirs, from the sandy, clay and limestone soils of Renesio, Mombirone and Srü to the clay-rich Bricco Genestreto. The estate combines traditional knowledge with experimental aging, particularly for Arneis Riserva, and a strong focus on Nebbiolo’s elegance and aging potential. Sustainable vineyard management, reduced synthetic inputs, biological and agronomic practices, and photovoltaic energy production since 2020 reflect their commitment to environmental stewardship.
