Maria and Sepp Muster

Austria

Maria and Sepp Muster run a family-owned estate in Schlossberg in Southern Styria, Austria. Sepp inherited the farm from his parents in 2000, and he and Maria now oversee the vineyards and winemaking together, with the next generation also involved. The estate has been Demeter certified since 2003 and is farmed biodynamically and organically, without herbicides, pesticides, or other synthetic inputs, instead relying on composts and biodynamic preparations. In the cellar, they work with indigenous yeasts, use minimal sulfur, and age the wines in old wooden casks, with no fining or filtration.
