Mainerdo is a historic, family-owned estate in Neive, in Piedmont’s Langhe, with a winemaking tradition dating to 1920 and three generations of the Mainerdo family involved. The estate works vineyards across several Langhe communes, including Neive, Barbaresco, Treiso, Serralunga d’Alba and Neviglie. Its integrated farming approach minimizes fertilizers and treatments, avoids herbicides and chemical pesticides, and uses mechanical weed control, bat houses and beehives alongside limited organic-approved products. In the cellar, spontaneous native-yeast fermentations, low sulphite use, natural clarification and minimal filtration reflect a low-intervention philosophy. Wines are matured in steel, concrete or carefully selected oak, with close attention given to each stage of production and analytical quality control.
