La Caudrina is a family-run estate in Castiglione Tinella, Piedmont, founded in the 1940s by vine grower Redento Dogliotti and now led by his son Romano. The Dogliotti family remains closely involved, with Romano overseeing winemaking. Initially selling Moscato must to larger producers, the estate began bottling its own Moscato d’Asti in the late 1970s, including the flagship La Caudrina, followed by La Galeisa and La Selvatica. The range also includes Barbera d’Asti from Nizza Monferrato. Romano combines respect for Piedmontese traditions with an openness to new technology, while maintaining close oversight of the vineyards and production. The wines are DOC and draw on hilly, marly-calcareous vineyards around Castiglione Tinella, with south to south-west exposures.
