Founded in 1983 as a garage winery, family-owned Weingut Klumpp is now run by brothers Andreas and Markus Klumpp in Bruchsal, Baden’s Kraichgau region. Andreas oversees the vineyards and Markus the cellar. The estate has been farmed organically since 1996, follows biodynamic practices, and belongs to Ecovin. Its vineyards lie at 160–220 metres on varied soils including loess, Muschelkalk, Gipskeuper and clay marl, across steep slopes, plateaus and diverse microclimates. Cool nights and long ripening periods preserve freshness and allow aromatics to develop slowly. The brothers emphasise careful site selection, old vines, low yields, selective harvesting and meticulous canopy and soil work. Their wines aim for salinity, structure, freshness and finesse, expressing the distinctive soils and sites of the Kraichgau.
