Baumard is a long-established family estate in Rochefort-sur-Loire in the Loire Valley, with roots dating to 1634. Re-established in the 1950s by Jean Baumard, it is now run by Florent Baumard and his son Charles. The domaine works across key Anjou appellations including Savennières, Quarts de Chaume, Coteaux du Layon and Crémant de Loire. Its viticulture has long emphasized sustainability, from cover crops and reduced chemical use to the VHL high-and-wide training system; the estate is organically certified as of 2024 and follows vegan-friendly methods. In the cellar, Baumard focuses on purity and terroir expression through careful harvesting, gentle and cold pressing, indigenous yeasts, stainless-steel élevage, no oak, and screw-cap closures. The style is centered on precise, mineral, vibrant Chenin Blanc, with fine, elegant wines built for freshness and aging.
