Château de Mauvanne is a historic Cru Classé estate in Hyères, Provence, designated since 1955. Its vineyards combine schistous, gravelly and sandy soils with a Mediterranean climate, and include mature vines, some more than 70 years old. The estate farms without synthetic fertilizers or herbicides and is pursuing High Environmental Value certification. Dating to the 17th century, it was revived after WWII by actress Simone Berriau and has been owned by the Rahal family since 1999. Winemaker Bassim Rahal has modernized the winery while maintaining a broad range of Côtes de Provence and IGP wines, including white, rosé and red styles.
