Quinta do Portal is a family-owned and family-run producer in the Pinhão valley of the Douro’s Cima-Corgo, overseen by the Branco family. Its vineyards, spread across varied elevations and exposures, support the production of Douro wines, Special Category Port and Moscatel, alongside olive groves, fruit trees and vegetable gardens. The estate combines tradition with innovation to express the Douro terroir. Winemaking has been led by Paolo Coutinho since 1994, with consulting enologist Pascal Chatonnet. Integrated farm management emphasizes responsible natural-resource use and reduced energy consumption, although no organic or biodynamic certification is cited.
