Italy

Poderi Sanguineto I & II is a family-run estate in Acquaviva, Montepulciano, in Tuscany, owned by Dora Forsoni and operated with her sister Patrizia. Founded in 1958 and redirected toward wine production by Dora in 1983, the estate focuses on native varieties including Prugnolo Gentile, Mammolo, Canaiolo Nero, Trebbiano, Malvasia, and Grechetto. The vineyards are certified organic, farmed without synthetic plant protection products, with sulfur and copper used only when needed, and all fruit is hand-harvested. In the cellar, Dora and Patrizia follow a traditional, low-intervention approach: spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, aging in large oak and Slavonian casks, and in some cases no fining or filtration. The estate is especially known for its traditional Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
