Montalbera is a Morando family-owned winery in Piedmont, with vineyards in Castagnole Monferrato and Castiglione Tinella across the Monferrato and Langhe. The family has worked these properties for three generations, focusing particularly on the native Ruchè, of which its vineyards account for around 60% of the denomination, alongside Grignolino d’Asti, Barbera and Moscato. Hillside vines on varied clay and calcareous soils are cultivated and harvested by hand. Montalbera uses selected native yeasts from its vineyards, ferments in steel, and ages some wines in French oak. Its approach combines terroir expression with experimentation, reduced sulphite use and certified integrated, environmentally conscious practices. The winery also offers tastings, tours and broader wine-tourism experiences by reservation.
