Marani is a Georgian producer founded in 1915, working from the historic Kakheti wine region with estate-owned vineyards including the generations-old Kondoli Vineyards. Its approach combines sustainable vineyard management and carefully limited yields with both contemporary cellar technology and traditional Georgian qvevri winemaking. The Satrapezo range reflects this philosophy particularly clearly: selected, hand-harvested grapes undergo six months of qvevri maceration before 12–24 months in French oak. Winemaker Raphael Genot, who joined in 2005 with experience from France, Spain and Australia, has introduced innovations while preserving traditional methods. The broader portfolio spans qvevri, single-vineyard, appellation and modern styles, with wines regularly recognized in major international competitions.
