Il Marroneto

Italy

Il Marroneto is a family-owned estate on the northern slopes of Montalcino in Tuscany, founded in 1974 by Giuseppe Mori. Now led by his son Alessandro Mori, with the third generation represented by Iacopo, the winery follows a traditional and minimalist philosophy. Organic practices are central, with no artificial fertilizers or pesticides, inter-row grassing for biodiversity, and the use of indigenous yeasts. Alessandro Mori is a 'naturalista' who practices minimal intervention winemaking, focusing on spontaneous fermentation and extended aging in large Slavonian oak barrels to produce elegant, classic Brunello.
