Founded in 1975, Hamilton Russell Vineyards is a second-generation family estate in South Africa’s Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, overseen by Anthony and Olive Hamilton Russell. The estate focuses exclusively on single-estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, made from low-yielding vines planted in stony, iron- and clay-rich shale-derived soils. Organic and regenerative farming has strengthened soil microbial life and carbon content. Winemaking is led by Emul Ross, with indigenous yeasts and vegan-friendly wines reflecting a refined, Burgundian style. Chardonnay is sourced from the Jackson Family’s Maple Grove Vineyard, while the property is registered as an estate with owned fruit only.
