Domaine J. Grivot is a fifth-generation family estate in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, run by Étienne Grivot, his wife Marielle, and their children Mathilde and Hubert, with Mathilde taking over winemaking in 2017. The domaine farms organically across parcels in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Vougeot and Chambolle-Musigny, including Grand Cru sites such as Clos de Vougeot, Échézeaux and Richebourg. Vineyard work emphasizes horse-drawn ploughing, hand harvesting and minimal chemical inputs. In the cellar, the approach is traditional and gentle, with mostly destemmed fruit, fermentation with natural yeasts, pump-overs rather than punch-downs, and around 15 months of barrel aging.
