Château Prieuré-Lichine

France

Château Prieuré-Lichine is a Grand Cru Classé estate in Margaux-Cantenac with roots stretching back to the Romanesque period, later reshaped by Alexis Lichine, who bought and renamed the property in the 1950s. Since 1999 it has belonged to the Ballande group. The vineyard is spread across Margaux terroirs with gravelly-sandy soils, and the estate has been certified Haute Valeur Environnementale since 2019 while pursuing broader sustainable certification. Winemaking is led by Étienne Charrier with consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt. Harvesting is done by hand in crates, with manual and optical sorting and no crushing, in a style focused on expressing the elegance, finesse, and classic character of Margaux.
