Cascina Pian d’Or is a three-generation family estate in Mango, at the heart of Piedmont’s UNESCO-listed Langhe. Managed by Valter Barbero, his wife Lina, and their children Lorenzo and Serena, it farms vineyards between 300 and 500 metres on predominantly sandy, calcareous soils mixed with tuff. The vines range from 15 to 50 years old, with lower yields prioritising quality. The estate follows sustainable, SQNPI-certified integrated viticulture, avoiding chemical fertilisers, herbicides, and insecticides. Solar energy, lightweight bottles, recyclable packaging, and techniques to reduce treatments further reflect its commitment to limiting environmental impact.
