Cantina Diomede is based near Canosa in northern Puglia, in the historic Campi Diomede. As part of the Farnese Group, it combines a sizable vineyard operation with a strong focus on local identity. Its vineyards are managed organically, with work carried out manually under the supervision of its enologists, although the estate has no formal sustainability certification. The winery uses native varieties and emphasizes low yields, careful vineyard and cellar work, and a balance of advanced techniques with traditional methods. Full-bodied white, red, and rosé wines include oak-aged examples, while historic mid-19th-century tuff caves provide naturally cool conditions for aging and refinement. Winemaking is led by Filippo Baccalaro with Massimo di Bari and Luca Pugliese, drawing on the region’s calcareous, clay-rich and rocky soils and its long winemaking tradition.
