Family-owned Benedetti & Grigi was founded in 2014 in Montefalco, Umbria, bringing together four estates with distinct clay, limestone and skeletal soils suited to varieties including Sangiovese, Sagrantino, Merlot and white grapes. The winery follows a sustainability-focused approach: winter cover crops, alternating grasses and legumes, mechanical vineyard cleaning, reduced agrochemical use and manual canopy management, without chemical herbicides. Its internal laboratory supports ongoing research and annual technological investment. Separate white and red production lines combine careful grape handling with stainless steel, concrete, large wooden vats, tonneau and barrique aging. The wines aim to express Montefalco’s terroirs while offering modern, fresh and approachable interpretations, including more drinkable expressions of Sagrantino.
