Armand Heitz is a family-owned Burgundy estate led by proprietor-winemaker Armand Heitz, grandson of Armand Lochardet, who took over in 2012–13 in Chassagne-Montrachet. The domaine works across Burgundy and into Beaujolais, with Armand directing the winemaking himself. Farming is rooted in permaculture and agroecology rather than formal certification, with cover crops, compost, mulch, mustard strips, respect for sap flow in pruning, and low-intervention vineyard and cellar work aimed at expressing each climat and vintage. The wider farm follows a polyculture-livestock model, using cattle and sheep to support soil life, autonomy, and circularity. Recent additions include Château Heitz, which extends the estate’s hospitality and direct connection to its agricultural project.
