Villa Conchi

Spain

Villa Conchi is a family-owned Cava venture associated with the Ruiz de Galarreta family and the Araex group, based in Vila-rodona in Tarragona’s Alt Penedès. Its vineyards span low, mid and high elevations, with older bush vines used for premium Cavas. Grapes including Xarel·lo, Macabeo, Parellada and some Chardonnay are hand-picked to produce a modern, elegant style marked by freshness, balance and acidity. The producer practices sustainable or rational agriculture, including dry farming, avoidance of synthetic fertilizers and aggressive treatments, recycled water and lighter, recycled packaging. Its portfolio includes classic, rosé, Gran Reserva and organic Cavas; all wines are vegan-friendly. The winery cellar was designed by César Martinell, a disciple of Gaudí. The brand is named for Conchi, the Ruiz de Galarreta family matriarch.
