MURI-GRIES

Muri-Gries is a Benedictine monastery winery and cellar in Bolzano, South Tyrol, with a wine-growing tradition extending over centuries and roots in Gries since 1845. Its vineyards lie in historic Lagrein districts around Bolzano and on the Eppan plateau, including the monastery’s Klosteranger site, protected by old walls and planted on quartz porphyry soils. The estate is particularly devoted to Lagrein, expressing individual sites through a single-site approach. Historical architecture is combined with modern technology, large wooden barrels and barriques, while the team balances tradition, innovation, expertise and passion. The winery is also committed to sustainable working and preserving the cultural and natural heritage of its vineyards.
