Monastero Suore Cistercensi

Italy

Monastero Suore Cistercensi is a Cistercian convent estate in Vitorchiano, Lazio. Owned and operated by the nuns themselves, the monastery farms certified organic vineyards on volcanic soils and has followed organic practices for around 30 years. The nuns oversee the vineyard and all winemaking, with advisory support from Giampiero Bea. Their production is limited, including the orange wine Ruscum, reflecting a focused, artisanal approach rooted in long-standing sustainable viticulture and the distinctive stewardship of a religious community.
