Mas SimSò is a small, hands-on estate in Priorat’s Siurana valley, between Porrera and Cornudella de Montsant. Founded in 1976 and owned by Belgian couple Simon Van Acker and Sophie Blieck since 2019, the project is also led by Xavi Buil and Anton. Its steep, rocky llicorella slopes are worked entirely by hand, with dry-farmed vines, no herbicides or pesticides, natural ground cover, and limited intervention. Grapes are harvested manually and fermented with 100% indigenous yeasts, with varieties kept separate through fermentation and ageing before blending. Traditional oak fermentation is combined with modern sorting and temperature-control technology, while solar panels generate electricity. The wines draw on Garnacha, Cariñena, Syrah, Malbec, White Grenache, and Viognier, including fruit from older vines. Organic farming is certified for SAMSÓ 74 ANYS.
