France

Château L’Enclos is a modest-size Pomerol estate on the sunny western slope of the plateau, with around 9.5 hectares of terraced vineyards on sandy-gravel soils over clay and iron. Owned by American couple Stephen and Denise Adams since 2006, the property achieved organic certification in 2017, reflecting its commitment to sustainable viticulture. The vineyards are planted mainly to Merlot, alongside Cabernet Franc and a small portion of Malbec, with vines averaging 31 years and some reaching 50 years. Consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt oversees the winemaking, including a blend led by Merlot and supported by Cabernet Franc.
