Judith Beck

Austria

Weingut Judith Beck is a family-run estate in Gols, Burgenland, founded by Matthias and Christine Beck in 1976 and taken over by Judith Beck in 2004. Judith lives among the vines and oversees natural, authentic winemaking focused on identity rather than loudness. The vineyards were converted to biodynamic viticulture in 2007, with certification through respekt-BIODYN achieved in 2010; the estate is also certified organic (AT-BIO-402). Practices include lunar-calendar work, herbal preparations, cultivated grass inter-rows, spontaneous fermentation, minimal intervention, and aging in large acacia barrels and used casks. The vineyards around Lake Neusiedl include gravel, sandy-loamy, chalk-influenced, and Seewinkel soils. Judith Beck is also a member of the Pannobile growers’ association.
