Jean-Marc and Annick Lafont run the family-owned Domaine de Bel Air in Beaujolais. Vineyard work is almost entirely manual, with integrated, chemical-free practices in place since 1989 and organic certification since 2009; the domaine is also listed as sustainable and is considering biodynamic conversion. Jean-Marc is the principal winemaker, overseeing production and vintage decisions. The wines are made in low-capacity, semi-carbonic vats, reflecting a hands-on Beaujolais approach rooted in careful vineyard work and artisanal cellar practices.
