DOMAINE DU PESQUIER

France

Domaine du Pesquier is a four-generation family estate in the heart of Gigondas, with vineyard history dating to 1556. Guy and Mathieu Boutiere cultivate 24 hectares across Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Côtes du Rhône and Vin de Pays de Vaucluse, producing exclusively red wines. Their reasoned farming respects nature and terroir: chemical weeding is excluded, soils are worked mechanically, treatments are limited, and vines are managed through pruning, selective sorting, cover growth and yield control. The vineyards average 40 years of age and are predominantly planted to Grenache noir, with Syrah and Mourvèdre. Harvesting is generally by hand, while vinification is traditional, with temperature-controlled fermentation and maturation in concrete tanks or large oak vats.
