Domaine de la Potardière is a family-run, independent estate in Loroux-Bottereau in the Nantes area of the Loire Valley, on the slopes of the Butte de la Roche overlooking the Goulaine marshes. The Couillaud family has been making wine since the 1880s, with the domaine passed down through five generations and now run by Romain Couillaud with Lucie also joining the estate. All stages, from vineyard planting to élevage and bottling, are carried out at the domaine. Farming is described as reasoned and environmentally respectful, and the estate has held HVE Level 3 certification since the 2020 harvest. In the cellar, Muscadet is aged on its lees for 6 to 12 months in the traditional manner, while the rosé and red wines use lower-temperature, more modern vinification to preserve fruit.
